Part 1 - Intro

The game starts with the protagonist, Daichi, seeing a strange creature in his dream. It’s a Bug, and it needs his help in Bugsite.

Nanohana Town

Once you’ve woken up, go downstairs using the leftmost door in your room. Your mother will nag you about sleeping too much, then she’ll comment on having had a weird dream last night, just like you did... She’ll ask you to go play with Yui, your neighbor and childhood friend, but you don’t need to do this. Just talk to your mother again, then go upstairs.

Go through the other door and you’ll be in the Study. A package left by your father will be there. This box is full of stuff needed for someone to dive into Bugsite and become a Hacker. You’ll receive:

  • A Mobile Computer
  • A Visor
  • A Bug Sensor
  • A JA-8G Chip to equip in your Bugs

Once you get all that was inside the box, you’ll get a voice message from your father. He’ll tell you that all that stuff is a gift from him, since you’re old enough to be interested in Bugsite. He’ll also ask you to set up your name into the Mobile Computer. This is how you can name your character if you're not fond of his default name. After setting up your name on your Mobile Computer, he’ll ask you to put on the Visor and link it to his computer, so that you’ll be able to dive into Bugsite.

Site Gate A

You’ll immediately reach Site Gate A. Your father will explain that you’re in a Site Gate, and that it’s the entrance to Bugsite. He’ll give you your first password. Passwords are used in the game to unlock gates to different areas in each Site Gate, but you need to have received the item beforehand to unlock them, which means gates are unlocked as you progress through the game and you can't access an area earlier than the game wants you to. You can check which passwords you have in the Mobile Computer menu.

  • Password 01: AMFE10
    • Used to unlock Ami Techno Area

Interact with the Terminal beside the right-most gate and enter AMFE10. The gate will unlock and, once you step on the portal, you’ll soon find yourself in Ami Techno Area.

Ami Techno Area

You’ll once again hear Spiral’s voice, telling you that he’s trapped in Ami Techno Area's Yamaneko Shop. You’ll get a new mail from your father, saying that there are Shops around the area, and that you can also use the Access Point there.

Go to Yamaneko Shop, located on the southeast part of the map. Once you're there, you’ll see a quick scene with the Manager talking to a Clerk, and they're mistreating some Bug.... It turns out this Bug is Spiral, so you gotta hurry!

If you try entering the store, the Manager will say you're too young to be there, so we need to find another way to get to Spiral. Enter the Back Door to the right of the Yamaneko Shop and you’ll finally meet Spiral. It’ll tell you that it believes your fates are connected. You’ll also be able to give it a nickname. Spiral will ask if you have a Chip and explain that a Hacker needs to equip a Chip to a Bug to control them. Thankfully, we got a JA-8G from our father, which is just the perfect Chip to equip to a Jank Bug like Spiral!

The Clerk will soon find you. With the Chip equipped, you can use Spiral to fight against him!

Once beaten, you’ll get a message from your father asking you about the Bug you have. He’ll comment on that being a previously unknown Bug, and that he needs to look up more information about it. He’ll also explain that you can leave this area using the Dive option in the Access Point northwest in Ami Techno Land. But, before you can get there, the Manager also challenges you to a battle!

Having defeated Yamaneko’s Manager, go back to the Access Point and choose the Dive option. When you’re back home, your father will tell you that Spiral is indeed a very unique Bug. He’ll say that the most important thing to a Hacker is to have their Bugs respect them, and it seems that Spiral really accepts you as its Hacker. He’ll also warn you that a criminal group called Weldehide is spreading viruses in Bugsite and corrupting Bugs. Your father will ask you if you wanna help Guardian stop them, and, once you agree, you’ll be an official B-Rank Guardian Hacker. Congratulation!

Finally, he’ll also request that you capture as many Bugs as you can to complete the Bug List. He will explain that you can use Vaccines to remove viruses from Bugs and capture them, and that reducing their HP will increase the chance of capture. He’ll also explain that you can have up to three active Bugs at a time. It's now time to start your new life as a Guardian Hacker!
