Rex is a Grassland-type Denjuu.
Name etymology
Rex is a common species name for animals, derived from the Latin for "king". Because Denjuu in Telefang 2 follow a naming theme of birds, it's likely a reference to Balaeniceps rex, or possibly Clytoceyx rex.

Trivia
The feathery spines on Rex's official art are much more detailed than on its ingame sprites, this was probably changed due to the complexity of drawing them clearly at a smaller scale.
