Now with 100% less spam!!!!!

Thankyou for cropping and uploading the picture of the antenna figures. There are actually some more pictures of them in the new Comic Bom Bom issues I got today, so i'll get to scanning those in as soon as possible. KenjutheDenjuu 19:01, 24 January 2012 (MST)

Wild Denjuu in Freesia

IIRC, in Freesia, in any acre where the Denjuu group is 1 or 2, you can only find wild Denjuu if you walk in grass or water... but there is none! So, if my memory serves me correctly, groups 1 and 2 are completely unused. (Worth noting though: If you hack water or grass in these acres, you can find these Denjuu!) I wonder what we should do about those acres...

It would also make good TCRF material...

In case you're wondering, I found out a while ago which acres are grass/water-only (funny -- I forgot that I found the data until just now), and which acres aren't (i.e. you can find wild Denjuu anywhere in an acre). You can find that info here: http://datacrystal.romhacking.net/wiki/Keitai_Denjuu_Telefang:ROM_map#Grass_data -- with that data, I'll find out soon which other acres effectively have no wild Denjuu due to this... --Blaziken257 23:05, 9 June 2012 (MDT)

Ohhhh, very interesting... that would explain why, when I was collecting Denjuu from every area to check origin data, I had to eventually give up looking in the town and move on to the woods..! I thought it was just a decreased probability of Denjuu occurring near houses/shops (I swear I read that somewhere, is that a thing?) RacieB 23:31, 9 June 2012 (MDT)
Wait now that I'm looking at it, that means... WHERE DO YOU GET A TELOPEA??? Notice that no T-Fanger has one (at least in Power, don't know about Speed) - User:Sanky/T-Fanger_Denjuu RacieB 23:37, 9 June 2012 (MDT)
OK, I looked at it more closely, and I was wrong about one of the acres. One of the group 2 (really, group 0E) acres is type 00, meaning you can find Denjuu even outside of grass. This is the acre furthest to the southwest, right before you approach the T-Fangers battling -- and also west of shop 4. So, you can find Telopea there. Sorry about the false alarm.
Group 1 of Freesia (really, group 0D) is still completely unused, though. --Blaziken257 00:30, 10 June 2012 (MDT)
That's still pretty weird, it shows up on one acre in the entire game :x? Guess I'll fix the map, then. RacieB 00:35, 10 June 2012 (MDT)
Yeah, that's how it works. Very weird. A group that only ends up being used in one acre. Also, I noticed that groups 1, 2, and 3 in Flaura Village (really groups 20, 21, and 22) have the same situation. They're type 01, but there's no grass or water anywhere. What a waste of Denjuu groups... --Blaziken257 00:56, 10 June 2012 (MDT)
Wow, checking out all the groups that got messed up by that... why did they even code it that way?? Is it seriously that important that Denjuu only show up on those tiles in arbitrary places :/ It's not like there are different land/water groups in single acres or anything, so who really cares (I almost want to ask if we can fix that for the translation patch but ehhhh... a separate standalone patch would be nice though.) I never expected that Telefang would be featured. I guess it's because Natsume is a popular developer. By the way, I've scanned in a small blurb about Dragon Quest Monsters. You can find it here on the thread I made about Large Game Boy Encyclopedia on Tulunk Village. --Torchickens 08:51, 16 June 2012 (MDT)
