Telefang 1[edit]

Help! I bought Telefang and my cartridge doesn't save![edit]

The first Telefang game has an internal battery that keeps track of the time even when the game isn't running. Unfortunately, this means it runs out much faster than other batteries. The games are very old now and a cartridge you buy might run out soon or already have a dry battery. Other games, notably Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, have the same problem.
This problem can be solved by replacing the battery. However, this is outside of the scope of this FAQ. Here are some links to get you started: [1] [2] (note that any instructions for Pokémon games should apply to Telefang as well)

I want to play Telefang on an emulator, how usable is the English patch? How do I use it?[edit]

The translation patch is currently a work in progress. Most of the text outside of the story is translated (including battles). You can always find the latest version on the patch changelog.
The translation is distributed in the form of an IPS patch. Currently, only a Telefang Power ROM is supported. Acquiring a ROM is outside of this FAQ's scope.
If you use the VisualBoy Advance, applying the patch is as simple as renaming it the same as the ROM and enabling automatic IPS patching from the menu. This method is called soft-patching. Alternatively, you can patch the ROM for every emulator by using a program such as Lunar IPS.

How do I trade on an emulator?[edit]

TODO. Try TGB Dual, bgb or VBA-Link.
