Base stats in Telefang 1
Base stats (or Level 1 stats) are one factor that determines the stats of a Denjuu. Base stats are what the stats of what a Denjuu will be at Level 1. It is important to note that base stats are not the only determining factor of stats; merely, they only determine how high the stats start initially -- at Level 1. Depending on the Denjuu, different stats can grow at different rates, so even if two Denjuu have the same base stat, they can be significantly different from each other at high levels.
For example, the base Speed of both Fungus and Keshi are 14, which means at Level 1, they will have 14 Speed. However, Fungus's Speed will increase by 2 for every two levels it gains, while Keshi's only increases by 1, so at higher levels, Fungus will be progressively faster than Keshi, especially at Level 99, where they will be 49 points apart (Fungus will have 112 Speed at Level 99; Keshi will only have 63 Speed). This is called stat growth.
Even if a given base stat of a Denjuu is higher than that of another, the Denjuu with the higher base stat can still have a lower stat than the Denjuu with the lower base stat, if they have different stat growth rates. For example, Pampas has a base Attack of 6, meaning it will start out with 6 Attack at Level 1. Suguri has a base Attack of 14, so at Level 1, it will have 14 Attack. However, as they level up, Pampas's attack grows faster than Suguri's -- Pampas's Attack increases by 2 for every 2 levels it gains, while Suguri's Attack only increases by 1 for every 2 levels it gains. This means that by Level 16, Pampas will have already caught up to Suguri, both having 21 Attack. At Level 17, they will both have 22 Attack, and from Level 18 beyond, Pampas will have the higher Attack, despite having a lower base Attack. As they both level up, Pampas's Attack will increasingly be higher than Suguri's. At Level 99, Pampas will have 104 Attack, while Suguri will have only 63 -- a 41 point difference!
Therefore, while base stats can make a difference at low levels, they do not make as much of a difference at higher levels, because stat growth will have a larger influence.
