Name Etymology[edit]
Paralle comes from parallel, meaning concurrently, the opposite of series. Similarly, parallel can also be used to described a form of computation in programming, termed as parallel computing (as opposed to series computing), as well as parallel communication, where data signals are sent simultaneously, such as with a parallel port, used for printers.
