Fungus (IPA: /θʌngʌs/) is a Grassland-type Denjuu. It is the player's first partner at the beginning of the game in Speed version in Telefang 1.
Name etymology
From fungus, as in mushrooms and molds.
Name confusion
Due to a translation error, Fungus was originally thought to be named Fangs (ファングス). This name is incorrect, but some older resources may still use the mistaken name Fangs when referring to Fungus.

Fungus is obtained from Musa's house in Toronko Village as a starter (Speed version.) It cannot be nicknamed unless traded, and is always obtained at level 5, with a Faithful personality.
